Hi ya! My name is Clefty and I am that handsome tabby male. I am roughly 4 years old.
I came to the centre at the start of May after I had been living as a stray for over a year and a kind lady helped me to come here so I can find a home.
At first meet I will more than likely hiss at you, but please just ignore me as I don’t really mean it, it’s just my tough boy act! Give me some strokes and head scratches and you’ll see that I do enjoy it and I’m actually a sweet, gentle boy who’s just scared of his surroundings. Once I know and trust you then I will be head bumping your hands for more strokes and letting you give me head kisses. I LOVE food and this is going to be the way we’re going to become the best of friends. I do hide away behind my blanket, it’s where I feel safest! So going into a home, it’s likely I will hide away under sofa’s and cupboards etc to start with and will need coaxing out with gentle encouragement. This means I will need owners who will be able to get down on the floor and give me strokes in my hiding places so I stray to trust you.
I’m looking for a patient new owner who will appreciate it will take me a while to settle into my new home and who will help me to gain my confidence further. The staff can see that once I fully trust someone I will be a loving, friendly lad as I’m getting braver and braver by the day. I don’t seem bothered by the other cats around me here so the staff think I could live with another as long as they like other cats.
