The Cat and Rabbit Rescue Centre (CRRC) are committed to ensuring we are compliant with both the Data Protection Act 2018 and the requirements of the UK GDPR (collectively referred to as the Data Protection Regulations).  We take your privacy seriously and as such may update this statement from time to time.  You should check this page periodically to ensure that you are happy with any changes.

How do we collect information?

We may obtain personal information when you enquire about our activities, register with us, send or receive an email, buy goods from our shops for delivery, make a donation or otherwise provide us with personal information.  All information collected is processed in accordance with our legal requirements and Data Protection Regulations.

If you are making a donation or enquiring about CRRC we will ask if you would like to receive future mailings and updates and, if you do, your preferred method of communication, e.g. post or email. You can change your mind at any time by selecting the unsubscribe option included in the email, or by contacting us (see Contact Us below).

Why do we collect your information (our Legal Basis)?

Our legal basis for collecting your information is to deliver our contract with you.  We will use your information to:

  • respond to your requests – such as donations, Gift Aid, membership, purchases and any information regarding CRRC that you have made enquiries about
  • manage your purchase orders, delivery of products and communicate with you about those orders

We will also use your information to:

  • keep you up-to-date on CRRC’s news such as fundraising campaigns, challenges, achievements etc. but only where we have previously received your consent to do so.

We may use information collected to prevent or detect fraud or abuses of our website and to enable third parties to carry out technical, logistical or other legitimate functions on our behalf.

Sharing your information

We are required to share information with HMRC as part of the declaration process for Gift Aid so that we can reclaim the Gift Aid on your donation(s).

CRRC will not share, swap or sell your data with any other organisation and will not transfer your data outside of the U.K. or E.U.  We will only use your data for the purpose we originally collected it for unless required to do so e.g. court order, law enforcement agency pursuing an investigation.
