Hi there! That beautiful black girl you see there is me Mavis and I am 9 years old.
I came to the centre in February as I had become anxious in my home.
When I first arrived I was quite the scary lady and would lash out at the staff swiping their legs and nipping them. But at the same time they could see how sweet I wanted to be as I would also rub around their legs, but touching me was deffo off limits!! As I’ve settled in more here, I have improved and whilst I still don’t enjoy the staff stroking me, I’ve become quite the sweet girl with the cat handlers here! With them and with a couple of people who have been to visit me, I’ve rubbed round them, purring my head off and let them stroke me and just generally been a good girlie. The staff hope that in the right home with a patient owner, I will fully calm down and show my softer side all the time.
I’m getting very sad still being here at the centre and would really like to find my own forever home soon and someone who will take a chance on me.
I’m a homely girl who doesn’t like to go too far from the safety of my pen, I would prefer to be the only pet in my new home and would prefer to live with no children as I will need a calm environment and lots of time to help me settle in and find my confidence.
