About Me
Hello my names Merritt the very handsome black and white boy who is estimated at just 5 years old. I came to the centre back in June as I had been living as a stray with a pretty nasty eye injury so after spending sometime at the vets I ended up here.
I’m such a sweet boy who really loves a fuss, I was a bit wary with the staff when I first arrived as I had been moved around alot and had different treatments so always thought something bad was going to happen but now I trust them I will always greet them at my door when its feeding time and push my big head in to their legs for a scratch, I’m also a very vocal boy so will let you know when I’m hungry or want some fuss!
I have been here a little while now as I had to have a few weeks treatment for my eye which is now all better, the vet team also noticed that I had an enlarged spleen which I had to have some treatment for also. I am now on the mend and the vet team are happy for me to go to my new home however I do need to have a blood test in October to check everything is still improving but this will be covered by the centre. I do have low platelets and neurophil levels in my blood but the vet has said as this hasn’t changed it’s nothing to worry about and could just be the way I am!
As I’m an independent boy the staff think I would fine living with a dog, as I could be a little stand offish to begin with I may be better suited to slightly older children.
