FAQs
How do I amend my existing Will?
If you already have a Will and would like to make changes, such as leaving a gift to CRRC, you can use a codicil – a separate instruction kept alongside your Will. You can also ask your solicitor to help you make a change to your Will.
Are there Inheritance Tax Benefits?
Gifts in Wills to charities are exempt from inheritance tax, and leaving a gift in your Will to a charity can even help to reduce the tax burden on your estate. Your legal advisor will be able to explain inheritance tax relating to your specific circumstances.
Do I have enough money to leave a gift in my Will?
There is no minimum requirement for the size of a gift in your Will. Every gift we are given, no matter how big or small, makes a real, tangible impact on the lives of the hundreds of cats, rabbits and guinea pigs we help every year.
However you can support us, it is hugely appreciated!
What do I do as an executor of a Will?
If you have been named as an executor of a Will and need to send us a gift, please get in touch with our team at fundraising@crrc.co.uk.
Should I tell you about my gift?
While there is no obligation to tell us if you’ve left us a gift in your Will, we love to hear from our loyal supporters, as it helps us to make plans for the future. We would also love to be able to thank you for remembering our charity in such a personal way, and send you updates about the work that we are doing.
